Here's some information on the WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION!
Any woman with an established golf handicap can become a member of the VCCWGA. If you already are a member of SCGA or are transferring in from another club, it's a simple matter to document your record and transfer your membership. If you are starting from "scratch" to establish a handicap, you need only play 20 games and turn in your scorecard for documentation. After these games you pay your dues and you're in! We have different dues for those of you who are full time golfers and those of you who are still working. (By the way, playing with your husband is not considered enough of a handicap so you still have to play the 20 games.)
Here's what we have to offer when you play with the ladies:
* Tuesday is Ladies'
Day.
1st
Tuesday -- Golfer of the Month which is chosen by low net winner.
3rd
Tuesday -- Draw Day and WGA Meeting
Other Tuesdays are
just regular play days.
* Last
Thursday -- Guest day. You may invite
a guest (or not). Some of us just
play with other members. You also
are eligible for reciprocal guest privileges at other member clubs without
greens fees.
* Toss-Ups -- Thursday,
Saturday & Sunday mornings.
You toss your ball in a box and the pro pulls them out by handicaps and
that's your foursome. It's fun as
you get to meet all the members faster.
* Tournaments -- some
of which are covered by dues and others that require a nominal fee (Usually $10
or less)
* Team
play -- determined by handicap. We
play other club teams in the area for group, region, division and champion in
both gross and net categories
We will look forward to seeing you at our club for golf, lunch, bridge,
or all of the above. Please
join -- we have too much fun. It
surely beats housework.
